Women’s Online Golf: WISE WORDS

It has been a week since we have launched our Women’s Online Golf Website, and we could not be happier to have it finally released!

If you haven’t checked it out yet, you should… right now. While you are at it, you should also visit the Wise Words section of the website. Wise Words is a fellow blog on the Women’s Online Golf site that recognizes the importance of strengthening and growing our inward character. Wise Words also recognizes the psychology behind the game of golf; any seasoned golfer would tell you that the game is fifty percent mental and fifty percent skill (some may come up with other percentages but the fact of the matter is that there is a mental compnent to the game that we all love).

In light of that statistic, the Women’s Online Golf site dedicated a little corner of the internet to words of wisdom and stories of the like. Despite age, experience and skill level, this little section will have a little of something for everyone. So check it out, and check it out often.

Some Wise Words

Frank D. (Sandy) Tatum, 91, Lifelong Amateur

“When we played with that older equipment, we didn’t know how difficult it made playing well. Even the sound of the game has lost its aesthetic flavor. Persimmon against balata was quite marvelous compared to what we get now with those huge hunks of metal at the end of the shaft. You can’t go back, of course, but one can reminisce.”

Bill Coore: Golf Course Architect

“It’s no contest: Mother Nature is a far better golf architect than any man. I mean, what are golf architects trying to do? We’re trying to imitate nature. The variables in nature are never-ending. The ideas of any architect, of all architects combined, are finite.”

Jack Burke Jr.: Major Champion

“I’ve always said that you have to play golf from inside yourself. On a cold day I went out there knowing I was going to be uncomfortable for five hours, so don’t think about having some hot chocolate or anything that would make you comfortable. That’s a giant interruption.”

Darren Carroll
