College Athletes Setting the Pace
Our college players are making some noise in the amateur golf community. Last week recent University of Colorado Boulder graduate, Emily Talley, took the 2012 CWC title. This week I stumbled upon amateur golfer, Victoria Fallgren’s blog from Turkey.
A couple of weeks ago I got word about a fellow blogger that is study abroad in Turkey. After finding out that she is an amateur golfer from southern California, I knew I had to check out what this woman was doing. And to my surprise, I found an insightful blog but also an inspiring example for many young amateur golfers and college athletes to aspire after.
Fellow blogger and amateur golfer, Victoria Fallgren has been studying abroad in Turkey through Gonzaga University’s study abroad program. Fallgren plays on the women’s golf team at Gonzaga and qualified at Los Serranos for the Women’s Amateur Public Links at Neshanic Valley this year. Fallgren was selected with seventeen other students to study classical civilization, religious studies and broadcast studies in Turkey. Fallgren has chosen to blog about her experiences as a student, athlete and tourist while spending her month in Turkey. Her blog is full of adventures, thoughtful reflections and inspiring stories that will make you want to book the next flight to Istanbul.
In her most recent post, Fallgren has noted that she anticipates writing every three days for her friends and family to keep up with her. If you would like to keep up with this aspirational student athlete’s blog, visit her site here.
