The Latest…

Most of you keeping up with the 2012 Women’s Amateur Public Link Championship know that we are mid-week in our competition now. Here is the latest news you should catch up on:

Tuesday, June 19: Tiffany Lua on the ninth hole during the second round of stroke-play qualifying at the 2012 WAPL.                                                                                Photo Courtesy: Hunter Martin/USGA.com

  • Yesterday completed the first round of stroke-play qualifying in the 2012 U.S. WAPL Championship, in which Lisa McCloskey won medalist honors.
  • All three 2012 USA Curtis Cup players  (including McCloskey) in the field easily qualified. Besides McCloskey,  Emily Tubert of Burbank, Calif., finished at 1-under-par 143 and Tiffany Lua of Rowland Heights, Calif., was at even-par 144. Tubert won this championship in 2010.
  • Local girls Emily Tubert and Tiffany Lua are interviewed on the USGA Player’s Dinner video on the USGA website.
  • An article on the USGA website also features Southern California locals, Emily Tubert and Tiffany Lua on their recent Curtis Cup Championship and their performance at this year’s U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship.
